PURPOSE

To design campaign assets for a singles event series produced and held at a Floridian brewery.

RATIONALE

To incorporate beer into the campaign design, I embraced a brown color palette and used subtle carbonated beer textures in the background of the assets. For typography, I sourced a font similar to the logo design. The silhouetted beer photos highlight community and mingling while the chalk illustrations become reminiscent of beach sand when paired next to the title. Finally, I added subtle hints of red to convey intimacy and drive engagement towards the CTA button. This concept was then resized to accommodate the associated channels.

PURPOSE

To design social assets, presentation assets, and event signage, and a conference booklet for a women’s church conference centered around diversity and fellowship.

RATIONALE

This series of assets uses a collection of vintage botanical illustrations — reminiscent of spring — to illustrate diversity in the church and represent the connections within the community. Our bonds to each other are displayed by how the illustrations were grafted together. Seemingly, they derive from one branch, though they are collaged together. Thy high contrast serif conveys elegance and strength, veering from the flowery typographic styles that can often be found in women’s conference collateral. The color palette also conveys the season and feels feminine without being stereotypical.

PURPOSE

To design an events calendar flyer that advertised DC Fray’s event calendar in Cloth & Paper’s Branding

RATIONALE

This project was an exercise in achieving a feminine, elegant aesthetic while using a minimal color palette. I began with research, studying how the client utilized typography and color across their website and social media channels. This gave me insight on the palette and typography, inspiring me to combine a high-contrast serif with a denser, high x-height serif. To add a nod towards their stationary products, I incorporated a ballpoint-pen font to call out “best”. Given that this events calendar advertisement is DC-centric and will probably include happy hours, I sourced two photos that felt appropriate. To elevate the flyer, I used one of the subtle brand colors in the background, and left space to create a grounding footer.

PURPOSE

To design event series campaign assets to advertise the upcoming series collectively and each individual event.

RATIONALE

Dispensaries are often represented as gritty, groovy, or just plain green. This set of campaign assets was an opportunity to design work that didn’t fall into those stereotypes. Luckily, the client already presented themselves elegantly, allowing me to lean into those styles for this project. To reference some of the typographic styles I’d seen on their social channels in research, I chose a high-contrast serif typeface with unique grooves; this helped convey glamour and feel unexpected. The liquid, psychedelic textures, geometric patterns, and compatible brand colors come together to create unique backgrounds. These backgrounds reflect the event, when possible, and also differentiate the events from each other. While the colors and textures differ, the application of each element creates a system where all events feel like they belong to the same series.
